More blocks

Sampler blocks
These are the last 4 blocks for my sampler quilt. It has gingerbread boys and a gingerbread house but I am saving them for  another project. I may have to make a couple more blocks but that will be easy.. It was fun taking this class with other quilters.. We have had snow and very cold weather and are enjoying a few warm days before it turns cold by the weekend, It showed 39º in my vehicle when I was out and about  this afternoon.. The weather has been so changeable this winter. Hope you are all having good days and getting lots of sewing finished. Mary

Good morning, I have been lazy about writing on my blog but 1 of my New Years resolutions is to try to post twice a month. Haven't been doing a lot of sewing but am  working on my sampler blocks and will have some pictures to post later in the week-have also started a scrappy quilt and have been cutting my scraps. I should have been cutting them after each project but it was so easy just to throw them in my scrap basket. I am trying to do a lot of down-sizing. After 60 years of quilting I have lots of scraps

New blocks

We are in the 10th. month of our sampler class. These are the 3 blocks for November. Now I would like you to see what our weather is doing. We had 9 inches of snow  a couple weeks ago and since have been having a heat wave, This is what my back yard looks like today.

White House Christmas Tree

Thought I would show you the tree- It stopped in Mitchell SD on the way to Washington DC from Alaska. It is 75 ft. long and the truck was covered  so we couldn't see much but we could put our sig

nature on the truck' I will also show you Willie Nelson. The pictures on the Corn Palace are made from colored corn grown in the area and also some grasses'

More blocks

Another block for my sampler- also did a 6 1/2 in. to match. Am finally cleaning off my garden so maybe can get some sewing done. Have a quilt to put the binding on and another to hand quilt. This will be the last one I will hand quilt. ..This is an applique block for the sampler. I used invisible thread to sew the appliqued pieces.

Hisbiscus Plant

 

Just wanted to show you all my pretty hibiscus- They are really doing good this year. Am still learning my new photo program but am getting there. Now I downloaded the new windows 10 so am learning that also. It has lots of new to me things but I like it. Mary
