Back to sewing

Finally gettin g back in the groove.Am making some blocks for a charity quilt and working on a row robin but can't show it until its finished. We are doing it in our guild.

  Will show you some birthday blocks I rec'd. I joined a group and we exchange blocks for birthdays. Colors don't show up very good but they are really pretty. Have a great day.

Long time since I posted

 Can't believe that I missed all of Feb. and didn't get any sewing done either. Now I really have to play catch- up.
 I had my knee replaced on Feb. 5 and hit a few bumps along the way so it is taking me longer to get over it. Tried hemming a pair of slacks and that went pretty good so maybe can get sewing this week ( I hope) Am taking therapy 3 times a week so that slows me down.
 The quilters on the HGTV forum cheered me up by sending spring FQ's and I rec'd lots of beautiful fabrics. Am looking for a pattern so I can use them all in a quilt.
  I really missed checking all the blogs. Hope you all are having a good week. Keep warm.

My project

This is what I am working on. It is queen size and I have it on my small plastic frame and am hand quilting it. Too cold to be outside but today is coffee day with friends.

Laundry Soap

 .Have you seen all the recipes for laundry soap on the internet?? It is supposed to be very good and cheap so I tried a batch. I got 2 quarts and it is supposed to do 128 loads using 1 Tbls. per load. Looks like mayo only whiter. Will start using some tomorrow. Now I am off to sew. 31.5º here today- almost a heat wave. Lots of sunshine and no wind. Mary

UFO- 11 down , 1 to go

I have been embroidering these blocks a few at a time so decided its time to finish them and I will have another quilt to put together. Don't think I will make any more large quilts- just smaller ones except I started a Sylvia's Bridal sampler and want to finish that.

BOM 2012 Finished

Hope this works- my computer is giving me fits. This BOM was made of scraps but I bought 1/2 yd of rust color and the beige for the border. CBQ gave me some of her scraps also. She will quilt it for me later.

  Hope you all have a Happy & healthy New Year and find lots of time to sew. Can't wait until my schedule gets back to normal and I can get in the sewing room. I have my 2012 HGTV  BOM sewed together and am piecing a border now. When its finished I have to clean my sewing room and get some order there. I have our card club party here on Friday night and then our Quilt Guild meeting on Sat. My turn to bring treats and I am going to start a row robin if there is enough interest.
  Today the temp is up to 32º already so it should melt some of our snow. Take care.
