Valentine Table Topper

This is ready to quilt- it is made from one of the charm packs I won. I found the pattern on aquiltinglife.com
We rec'd 8 more inches of snow on top of the 9 we got last week. It is very cold today- barely above 0 but no wind and the sun is shining. We ventured out for lunch at Taco Johns with friends. Supposed to be very cold all week but we consider ourselves lucky as the weather in other parts of the world is much worse and we are prepared for it. Hope you all are keeping warm and safe.

Vintage Quilt???

Would you call these quilts vintage?? : ) About 30 years ago my DH had serious surgery and was in a body cast for 6 months. On one side the cast was down to his knee and he couldn't do a thing. I had lots of double knit so I had him cut squares- everyone was giving him fabric. I made 2 big quilts and put the rest away- until now. I am sewing them together for full size quilts or throws. Haven't decided how to finish them but am thinking maybe with polar fleece. My college grandkids are wanting them when they are finished. This is a sample of one.

Join Kelly's MUF group

I have joined the MUF's. It means 'Masterpieces Under Fermentation'. After 50 years of quilting I have lots of MUF's. I used to call them PIGS which means projects in grocery sacks.. My goal is to get some of the blocks I have into quilt tops in 2011. I also will be doing a few new projects.

Look what I rec'd

Rec'd a box yesterday. It came from Kelly @ Cotton Charm Quilts in St. Joseph, MO and had a pretty card signed- Mrs. Claus. What a beautiful collection of fabric in charm packs and layer cakes. Thank you very much Mrs. Claus. I have been admiring and playing with the fabric ever since it arrived. Click on the picture to enlarge.

inside of purse

This is the inside of the purse and it is reversed with the polka dots on the outside on the second purse.

Last minute gifts

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas- we certainly did and the weather co-operated. Although the pictures aren't very good I will show a purse I made for a gift. I actually made 2 but gave one away. I used pre-quilted fabric so one was the brown floral and the other polka-dots.
