Hello

Can't believe its been a month since I have been on my blog. My SIL who had cancer passed away . She was in the hospital 2 weeks and I visited her everyday. We were good friends so I miss her very much.
  Have been working on many projects but no pictures. We ar doing a row robin in guild and can't show it until Sept. when I will get mine back. Also did 5 birthday blocks and am still hand quilting.
  Garden and flowers are doing great- just started getting tomatoes and cucumbers and zucchini. Have quite a few beans so am freezing some today. I love being outside so have to squeeze in my sewing. Our guild is making blocks for Heartstrings ( Charity ) so have to do some of those. I have 2 quilts and a row robin at my daughters getting machine quilted which I will show you when she brings them later.I will have lots to show in a few weeks. Take care and have a good summer.

Hello

 A hot evening in SD. Too warm to sit out on the patio. The AC feels good. Just picked a bouquet of peonies to bring in. They are so pretty this year. My garden looks good. Everything is growing nicely. had some spinach yesterday.

  Finally got 2 quilt tops and the backing mailed to CBQ to quilt for me. Am still working on my hand-quilted one and it will probably take all summer as I spend time outside  with the garden and lawn.


   Guess I'd better go watch  the basket ball finals. Mike Miller from the Miami Heat  is from here so he is a hometown boy. Chad Greenway from the Vikings is also from here. Happy sewing.

WOW almost a month

Almost a month since I have posted on my blog. I am hand-quilting a queen size quilt and am determined to finish it. I am also doing a row robin in our guild so have a row to do each month. Since the long arms came out no one hand quilts anymore so I can't get any help. This is going to be my quilt-am not giving it away.
  Also we have been getting lots of rain so our yard and garden keep us busy. Lots of mowing. My tomatoes are blooming so now need sunshine. We have been very lucky and missed all the terrible storms. It is a miracle that more haven't been killed in the tornados. My heart goes out to all who lost so much. Take care, Mary

Denim-flannel quilt

Finished a denim quilt for my great grandson. Also am hand quilting a candlewick quilt I embroidered so don't have a lot to show. Cut some 9 patches I exchanged several years ago in a swap. It will be a disappearing 9 patch. Won't be doing a lot in my sewing room as we rec'd over an inch of rain last night so my garden and yard come first. Our guild is doing a row robin quilt so I have a row to do each month. This month  the one I am doing has a Christmas theme. Can't show pictures until it is finished.

I'm Back

We have been getting snow every few days. Its the heavy wet stuff- but enough already. DH was sick with the crud so our son came and blew out our drive 2 times and a neighbor did it today. I caught the crud also so haven't been doing much either. Today I hand quilted for a while and then made some denim flannel blocks for a quilt for our GGS. I also drew up a block to use for a row robin we are doing in our guild but can't show anything until they are finished.
 DH likes to work on vintage machines and we found a 301A Singer and we have been working on that and have it sewing good.. It is quieter than my FW but a nice machine. We will sell it when I finish playing. I had the light on when I took the picture and it glares.  Hope you are all having good sewing days. mary

Good morning

My computer goofed up yesterday and all I could say was hello. Have been busy hand-quilting a -candle-wicking quilt that I embroidered and I think it is going to take forever. Also working on Row robins in our guild but can't show them until we are finished. Am caught up on birthday blocks and BOMs. I also am making a denim-flannel quilt for GGS.
 Finished therapy on my knee and am doing good- it takes a lot of time to go to therapy 3 times a week.
 We are getting back to normal after our big snowstorm last week. We has over a foot of heavy wet stuff but it had lots of moisture in it. Hope its the last. Many people are still without electricity.
